As of 2026, Ontario's Home Renovation Savings program pays $1,000 per kW of solar and $300 per kWh of battery — half your cost, capped at $5,000 each. Take it and you are barred from net metering, so anything you generate and don't use in that moment is worth nothing to you. The Atmospheric Fund puts the payback on a rebated system with no net metering at roughly double a net-metered one. Which side of that fork is yours depends on how much of your own generation you'd be home to use, and that's an hour-by-hour question. We answer it by modelling what your roof can produce hour by hour, then laying it against what your house actually draws hour by hour. A sales visit can't do that. The quote doesn't try.
We model your roof, read your quote, and read your data — all of it from a desk. What we don't do is climb up there: structural capacity, shingle condition, and anything else needing a ladder belongs to an inspector. We don't handle permits or ESA paperwork, and we never become your installer — there'd be nothing independent left if we did.
You were promised a number when you bought the heat pump or the solar array. This measures whether you got it — using your own data, paid for by you, never by the installer.
Most carbon numbers are worked out against Ontario's average grid intensity, which is low enough to imply nothing you do matters. It's the wrong number. When you actually move a kilowatt-hour, what responds is usually gas — 343 gCO2e/kWh in 2024, against an average of 73. We measure against the margin, because that's the carbon your decisions really cause.
Honest scope, in writing: most engagements need only your data. When sensors help, they're ours, installed for about a week and removed — we never sell equipment or take commissions. And sometimes the finding is "your system is running well" or "yes, the upgrade is justified" — you're paying for the truth, not for a predetermined answer.
